Formerly closed due to contamination by asbestos and heavy metals, this renovation became the first building at CWU to receive a LEED ® rating, a Gold Certification.

LEED ® points were earned for energy-efficient lighting, occupancy sensors and room thermostats networked into the campus-wide energy management system; water-conserving plumbing fixtures, landscaping with native and adaptive drought-tolerant plants, and use of local and regional materials. Also 2,100 tons of construction debris were recycled.
