Built in 1930, the 39,000 SF two-story school is designated a historic landmark. The project preserved and restored historic features including the school’s exterior of brick and ornamental cast stone, main stairways, and student dining hall with its carved, painted beams and tall north windows. Along with the structural improvements, the project scope included a new 13,800 SF two-story classroom addition, a new standalone 4,400 SF gymnasium, and 3,000 SF of covered play area expanding the school’s building footprint to 58,500 SF and accommodating 503 K-5 students.
