The Rainier Club

The Rainier Club is a five-story brick building originally constructed 1888.

Owner

The Rainier Club

Architect

Bumgardner

Cost

$3.5 Million

The building sustained structural and cosmetic damages in the February 2001 Nisqually earthquake. Working closely with the Owner, insurance company, and Seattle Landmarks, Lydig restored the building to its original form. Exterior work on the building included dismantling and re-constructing parapets using the original brick. The interior portion of the club required ornate plaster repair, new flooring, window repairs, replacement of wood trim and doors as well as structural retrofits and repairs. This project has resulted in a long-term relationship with the Rainier Club.
